Yep, another title that was set to be released this year has been pushed back to February 4th 2022. The previous announced date was December 7th, so we are not going to get that new Zombie parkour game for Christmas.
According to the offical statement made via Twitter.
The team is steadily progressing with the production and the game is nearing the finish line. The game is complete and we are currently playtesting it. It is by far the biggest and most ambitious project we’ve ever done. Unfortunately, we’ve realised for us to bring the game to the next level we envision, we need more time to polish and optimize it.
The message goes on to say that we’ll see the game through content creators and media from October.
If the game is as they say “finished” it seems more that the delay could be to iron out as many bugs as possible. Developers must be a bit camera shy with releases since the issues and feedback that hit games like Cyberpunk 2077 so hard. Putting out an buggy product might see the fanbase be not quite as forgiving as we have seen in the past.
Here’s hoping the team can make good on the promise of a large and ambitious world. Dying Light was a really great title and I’m looking forward to seeing what they can do next.
