What You Need to Know about Disney’s Streaming Service

Information

Disney+ is the latest streaming service to launch in Australia and the “Mouse House” seem to be determined to be the number one choice for entertainment in peoples homes.

Disney+ Launched in Australia today

The current streaming landscape consists of main players Netflix, Foxtel Stan, Amazon Prime Video and the more recently launched Apple TV+. There are some other services as well like 10 All Access, Youtube Premium and Hayo, then if you want sport it’s a whole other ballgame.. pun intended.

So with an already saturated market why do we need another streaming service and how is Disney+ any better than the rest.

Well for a start, if you like those Marvel movies the service has them all. Up until now they were having a little rest on the STAN service, but now that all that Disney programming is moving to it’s own service STAN might need to up its original programming.

There’s some Marvel TV shows coming with the service later on as well, So expect some major movie characters like Loki, Winter Soldier, Falcon, Scarlet Witch and Vision to have their own shows to stream and you’ll need to watch them if you want to understand changes coming in the next lot of movies as well. The service comes with Marvels Agents of Shield on in and a stack of other animated Marvel stuff as well.

The first Live Action Star Wars show, first two episodes available now

Now what about STAR WARS, the movies are all on DISNEY+ and it launches in Australia with “The Madalorian” a whole new live action TV Show with some big names and powerful special effects. This is one reason to get the service straight up.

Add to that High School Musical, a new live action Lady and the Tramp and an entire catalogue of Disney and Fox movies and shows and you’ll be surprised at how much you are ready to watch straight up.

I guess there’s something for everyone

Then look at the fact that they also have PIXAR and National Geographic as well. What’s that? You are a fan of “The Simpsons”, every episode is on Disney+ that’s 29 seasons from 1989 to 2017 to get your started.

Devices to Watch it On

The service is easy to set up on any of your devices as well

On TV you can use Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, LG TV and Samsung TV Apps.

on your computer you can watch through your Chrome browser on MacOS or Windows PC

Your mobile device has apps ready to download for both Android and IOS iphone and ipad.

and lastly if you have a video game console like a PS4 or Xbox One the app is available there as well.

Price

The price point is seemingly affordable as well, after your free 7 day trial you pay $8.99 a month or you can get a whole year for $89.99. a discount of around $18.

Although we can get caught up with how much choice there is now and how frustrating it is to have so many services it’s important to remember that you don’t have to have them all at once. A lot of services let you cancel after one month, so binge your show and move on to the next service and make your way back. Having said that at $89.99 for a year that is a really good price point, especially for all the Marvel and Star Wars content.

Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to watch the first two episodes of “The Madalorian”, see you on the other side.
