Pokémon Pokopia Hits 5 Million Sales on Switch 2 As New DLC Drops

It turns out everyone just wants to relax and build a virtual paradise. Pokémon Pokopia has officially passed 5 million global sales in just over four months since its launch on the Nintendo Switch 2. If you have been playing it, you already know why it is such a surprise hit.

Released back on the 5th of March, 2026, this Switch 2 exclusive swapped out the usual gym battles for a relaxing life simulation. You play as a very special Ditto, using your transformation and crafting skills to turn a desolate wasteland into a thriving, cosy utopia. As you build and cultivate the land, you get to work alongside other Pokémon to restore the environment’s natural beauty.

Now, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are keeping the momentum going with the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass.

Plunging Into Bubbly Basin

The first of three paid DLC drops, titled Part 1: Bubbly Basin, launched on the 5th of August. It introduces an entirely new underwater town filled with more Pokémon to discover, fresh furniture to craft, and new food recipes to prepare.

Even if you do not buy the expansion, a free software update has rolled out for all players simultaneously. This gives Ditto a brand new “Dive” move, allowing everyone to explore beneath the waves. Part 2 of the Expansion Pass is scheduled for late 2026, promising new Pokémon accessories and even more furniture to customise your space.
