The pups of Adventure Bay are trading their usual seaside rescues for something a little more jurassic. Outright Games and Nickelodeon have officially confirmed that a brand-new adventure, PAW Patrol: Dino World, is on the horizon. If you have younger gamers in the house like I do, or if you secretly enjoy the straightforward satisfaction of a platforming rescue mission, this looks like it will be the biggest entry in the franchise yet.
The Plot: Saving Dino Island
PAW Patrol: Dino World draws its inspiration directly from the events of season 13 of the animated series, as well as the upcoming theatrical release, PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie.
The narrative kicks off when the notoriously troublesome Mayor Humdinger ventures to Dino Island and begins causing his usual brand of environmental chaos. Naturally, his actions throw the prehistoric ecosystem completely out of balance.
Players will control a roster of fan-favourite pups, including Chase, Marshall, and Skye, tasked with restoring order. The core story revolves around exploring a vibrant jungle region, cleaning up Humdinger’s pollution, repairing broken bridges, and ensuring the local dinosaur population stays safe and sound. It is a simple, eco-friendly rescue tale that perfectly fits the tone of the show.
Mechanics: Accessible Rescues and Co-op Play
When it comes to how the game actually plays, accessibility is the core focus. The developers have designed the mechanics specifically for younger audiences, meaning the controls are forgiving and the objectives are clear but it also means that it’s a game to enjoy WITH your kids.

- Environmental Interaction: The gameplay looks focused on visible progression. As you replant Plumvines and clean up mess, the jungle visually returns to life around you, which provides excellent positive reinforcement for younger players.
- Cooperative Play: The game features robust local cooperative play. Parents can easily jump in to help a child navigate a tricky section, or siblings can tackle missions side-by-side.
- Hardware Features: The game supports the Switch 2’s GameShare, making it easier for families with multiple consoles to share the experience.
Hardware Upgrades and the Switch 2 Boost
What makes this release particularly interesting is the rollout strategy. The game is launching in two distinct waves, and the second wave brings some serious technological upgrades.
The initial launch hits most platforms on July 31st with the Nintendo Switch 2 release dropping on October 2nd. Interestingly for the Switch 2 version, the developers are promising a significant suite of technical upgrades. Expect sharper textures, denser foliage and map decorations, an extended draw distance so you can see across the entire valley, and enhanced visual effects.
Who Is This For?
If your household has spent dozens of hours with PAW Patrol: Grand Prix or PAW Patrol World, this is a mandatory addition to the library. Mechanically, it shares a lot of DNA with the recent Peppa Pig and Bluey console games, emphasising exploration, mild problem-solving, and co-op fun over high-stakes difficulty. If you enjoy wholesome, stress-free collectathons, this will hit the spot.

There is no doubt that PAW Patrol: Dino World is highly anticipated among families. It is a reliable franchise that consistently delivers safe, engaging content for kids. We had a recent holiday to the Gold Coast to visit Sea World and the highlight for my 6 and 7 year olds was the Paw Patrol show on the stage, the franchise continues to deliver on every medium.
