Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
Sony Interactive Entertainment has overnight announced that the upcoming Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered for PC is available for pre-order on Steam and Epic Games Store with a launch set for Saturday, 13th August.
The remastered edition will make a host of graphic improvements to help make the gaming experience visually stunning on the PC platform. This includes opening up the extensive config options that PC users are accustomed to with the opportunity to utilise new techniques and tools that push things even further.
This will include features such as higher-quality ray-traced reflections, NVIDIA DLSS and DLAA, support for a wide range of resolution outputs to pick from including multi-monitor setups, and increased customisation for many other rendering systems – all of which will give gamers full control of the experience that suits them.
Mike Fitzgerald, Core Technology Developer at Insomniac Games took to the PlayStation Blog to state, “while we’ve clearly been working hard to add higher-end graphical features for those with powerful gaming rigs and fancy new graphics cards, we’ve also been trying to ensure that people with all sorts of PCs are able to enjoy Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered to its fullest.”
While there is mouse and keyboard support and the option to customise your controls through Steam Input, in an interesting move users also have the option to plug in the impressive new PS5 DualSense controller and take advantage of the adaptive triggers and haptic feedback. If you don’t have a PS5 it’s certainly worth purchasing one of these controllers as for me they are the real breakthrough with the latest system.
The remaster also comes with the game’s three-episode story expansion and all of the free suits, hence the hefty price tag for a game that is technically 4 years old at this point.
If you pre-purchase ahead of the game’s launch, you’ll get:
- Early unlock for three Spider-Man suits
- The tech-heavy Iron Spider Suit
- The one-of-a-kind Spider-Punk Suit
- The original Velocity Suit
- An early unlock of the Spider-Drone combat gadget
- 5 extra skill points to spend on Spidey upgrades
