Universal Pictures and Illumination’s animated film adaptation of the “Super Mario Bros.” game franchise has just dropped its first full trailer and it’s left the internet speechless.
This will be the first adaptation of the popular Nintendo franchise since the 1993 live-action ‘Super Mario Bros’ which, was, problematic.
There’s been plenty of internet chatter since the film was first announced, mostly around the casting of Chris Pratt as the title character Mario. But it seems that will the new trailer dropping it’s quietened the masses as it’s actually pretty great.

The voice cast for the film also includes Charlie Day as Luigi, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek, Fred Armisen as Cranky Kong, and Sebastian Maniscalco as Spike.
Franchise fans were also happy to hear that long-time voice of Mario in the video games. Charles Martinet will have a cameo in the film.
“The Super Mario Bros.” is set to open in cinemas on April 7th 2023 and we are here for it!
