This week the world has been celebrating the Lunar New Year which it is the Year of the Snake.
Over the years in gaming, Snakes have been a major part of the ecosystem from “snake” where you grow larger as you maneuver around on your mobile phone screen to “Solid Snake” from the Metal Gear series.
So we thought we would look at the top four games on Xbox Game Pass right now featuring our slithering friends – the snakes!
First on our list is a game that had a rough start but rose to be an icon, “No Man’s Sky.” Taking you on an arduous journey across an infinite, procedurally generated universe, No Man’s Sky’s thrilling encounters with an array of space creatures. The many snake-like entities that inhabit these worlds can be scanned, engaged with, and sometimes even ridden.
The second game that gets in on the action is “Sea of Thieves,” a shared-world adventure game featuring a vast open world teeming with danger and discovery. Players must keep an eye out for the sneaky snakes lurking on islands. They constantly threaten the pirates, keeping them on their toes.
Next is one of the best games I’ve played in a while “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” a game I didn’t have high hopes for but was a pleasant surprise that has had me spending hours exploring lost temples and tombs which are usually always featuring at least one of our famous slithering fiends. Of course, snakes have been a major part of Indy’s story in the films, as well as the heroic archeologist’s greatest fear.

Last but not least, “Minecraft Dungeons” makes our list. Although Minecraft is known for its blocky visuals and peaceful farming, this game takes a dark turn with perilous dungeons filled with snake-like enemies and special weapons. The snake themes run deep in the game which is a lot of fun.
The Red Snake bow one of the more unique longbows that can be found within the various missions of Minecraft Dungeons.
