After some leaked information online EA jumped to announce that the Jason Sudeikis Character of ‘Ted Lasso’ from the hit Apple TV+ show of the same name as well as the fictional football club ‘AFC Richmond’ will indeed be joining the FIFA 23 lineup.
The characters and team will be available across multiple game modes so get ready to take control of AFC Richmond in Career Mode, Kickoff, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons. It looks like it will be based around season 1 of the show, so potty mouth ‘Roy Kent’ is still a player and also in the team are Jamie Tartt, Sam Obisanya and Dani Rojas with Lasso himself selectable as a manager in Career Mode and can also manage any team in the game.
Good news for me, as I rarely pick any team other than Newcastle, but it would be good to get some of those players in my career mode.
AFC Richmond’s home stadium is ‘Nelson Road’ and it will also be a feature in the game as well as many unlockable items like kits.
“FIFA 23” launches on September 30th and if you haven’t started watching Ted Lasso yet, I can highly recommend it, its hands down one of the best shows on TV right now.
