Sony’s 2023 Game Lineup: A Look at the Most Anticipated PlayStation Releases

It’s a new year and that means a new lineup of highly-anticipated games on the horizon. Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) has just released a trailer showcasing some of the most exciting titles coming to the PlayStation platform in 2023, including exclusives for the PS5 and a few third-party titles available on all platforms.

Let’s start with the big guns, shall we? Fans of the popular Marvel’s Spider-Man series will be thrilled to hear that “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” is set to release exclusively on the PS5. Similarly, fans of the iconic Final Fantasy franchise will be excited for “Final Fantasy XVI,” which will also be a PS5 exclusive. But that’s not all, PS5 players can also look forward to the “Horizon Forbidden West” expansion “Burning Shores” and the newly-announced “Stellar Blade” (formerly known as “Project Eve”).

PlayStation to PC Releases

But what about those who also own a PC? SIE has got you covered with titles like “Forspoken” and “Pacific Drive” which will be launching on both PS5 and PC. And for those who have their sights set on the upcoming PSVR2, there are launch titles like “Horizon: Call of the Mountain” and “Firewall Ultra” to look forward to when the unit releases on February 22nd.

Third-party titles also make an appearance on the list with games like “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,” “Assassin’s Creed Mirage,” “Resident Evil 4,” “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League,” the “Dead Space” remake, “Street Fighter 6,” “Hogwarts Legacy,” “The Lords of the Fallen,” “Synduality,” the “Alone in the Dark” remake, “Wild Hearts,” and “Eternights” all set to release on the PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S. And let’s not forget the indie titles “Tchia” and “Season: A Letter to the Future” which will also be available on all platforms.

SIE President Jim Ryan announced at the company’s CES showcase earlier this month that December was the PS5’s biggest sales month yet, with the console having sold over 30 million units since its November 2020 launch. This comes as Microsoft prepares to make a comeback with titles like “Starfield,” “Redfall,” “Forza Motorsport,” the “S.T.A.L.K.E.R.” and “The Outer Worlds” sequels, while Nintendo has the highly-anticipated “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” in the works.

It’s an exciting time for gamers as we look forward to another year filled with new and exciting titles. With so many highly-anticipated games on the horizon, the competition between console makers is sure to heat up in 2023. As a gamer, it’s a great time to be alive!
