Rockstar Games seems to be offering an apology of sorts for the delayed release of “Grand Theft Auto VI” with the drop of its highly anticipated second trailer. Arriving nearly 18 months after the first trailer’s debut in December 2023, this new preview comes just days after the announcement that the game’s release has been pushed back six months to May 26, 2026.
Unlike the first trailer, which highlighted the vibrant, sprawling Vice City (a fictionalized Miami), the latest trailer focuses on the central narrative. Set to The Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together,” it introduces Jason and Lucia, a couple drawn into a dangerous life of crime. A simple heist gone wrong thrusts them into a high-stakes world of conspiracy that stretches across the state of Leonida. With the odds stacked against them, their survival hinges on trust as they navigate some of America’s most dangerous corners.
The trailer takes us through a rich variety of locations, including motel rooms, neon-lit strip clubs, marinas, swamps, and highways. Players will explore six key areas: Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Gellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park.
“Grand Theft Auto VI” will launch on May 26, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC release has yet to be announced.
