Games based on Film and TV IP are generally not worth your time, but there are alway’s exeptions to the rule and one of the biggest ones is RoboCop: Rogue City that was met with such possitivity that they are expanding on the game.
A new full trailer has dropped for RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business, the standalone expansion to developer Teyon’s 2023 first-person shooter, RoboCop: Rogue City. The game is set to launch on July 17th for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, offering an experience that feels like a fusion of films like Dredd and The Raid, with RoboCop as the unstoppable enforcer tasked with clearing a building overrun by criminals.
The original game introduced players to an all-new storyline inspired by Paul Verhoeven’s iconic 1987 film. Set in Old Detroit, players stepped into RoboCop’s titanium boots to rid the city of criminals, conduct investigations, and even issue citations—both criminal and traffic. The game, which stayed true to the franchise’s gritty tone, was praised for its authenticity, featuring events that take place between RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3. Anne Lewis, RoboCop’s loyal partner, accompanied players throughout, and Peter Weller reprised his legendary role as the voice of RoboCop.
The upcoming expansion shifts the action to OmniTower, a massive housing complex built by OCP to cater to the residents of Old Detroit. However, the tower has fallen under the control of a highly trained group of mercenaries armed with cutting-edge weapons. They’ve transformed it into a deadly stronghold, threatening to undermine law and order. It’s up to RoboCop to storm the complex and put an end to their plans.
Players will face an array of high-tech threats within OmniTower, including anti-personnel turrets, flying drones, deadly traps, and elite mercenaries armed to the teeth. The adversaries come equipped with miniguns, jetpacks, and even katana-wielding robots, even ED209 makes a return, as RoboCop continues his fight to restore justice.
