Gotham Knights Cancelled on Old-Gen Consoles

The upcoming “Gotham Knights” game has been officially scrapped on old-gen consoles becoming a PS5 and Xbox Series X/S exclusive.

The announcement came as part of a drop of a new gameplay trailer today with publisher Warner Bros. Interactive including a very short note about the old-gen versions of the game being cancelled. To put it simply the versions were removed to “provide players with the best possible gameplay experience.”

This will of course mean that the game will not appear on Playstation 4 or Xbox One variations but is on track to release on Nex-Gen systems on October the 25th this year.

In the game, Batman is dead. A new expansive, criminal underworld has swept the streets of Gotham City. It is now up to the Batman Family; Batgirl, Nightwing, Red Hood, and Robin; to protect Gotham, bring hope to its citizens, discipline to its cops, and fear to its criminals. From solving mysteries that connect the darkest chapters in the city’s history to defeating notorious villains in epic confrontations, you must evolve into the new Dark Knight and save the streets from descent into chaos.

Gotham Knights is an open-world, action RPG set in the most dynamic and interactive Gotham City yet. In either solo-play or with one other hero, patrol Gotham’s five distinct boroughs and drop in on criminal activity wherever you find it.

The latest demo shows gameplay footage of Nightwing and Redhood. While you can play the game solo, you can also play it Co-op with a friend.

Each character boasts a unique play and combat style and as you can see in the video when they team up can deliver powerful combo attacks.

Gotham Knights will release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on October 25.
