The “Gex” trilogy remaster is officially set to launch digitally on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on June 16th, with physical editions scheduled to ship later in 2025. Fans of the classic platformer can look forward to three physical editions of the trilogy, including a $39.99 Standard Edition and a $199.99 ‘Tail Time’ Collector’s Edition.
The Collector’s Edition is expected to include exclusive goodies like art books, collectible items, and possibly even a nod to some of the series’ iconic characters and one-liners.
“Gex Trilogy” compiles all three games from the beloved Crystal Dynamics platformer series originally released on the PS1, N64, Sega Saturn, and the short-lived 3DO.
The remaster brings several modern enhancements to the series, such as save state and rewind options for all three games, making gameplay more accessible for both returning fans and newcomers. Additionally, the second and third games in the trilogy now feature new widescreen support, offering a fresh perspective on the retro experience.
This long-awaited remaster is a nice little slice of nostalgia for fans of the wisecracking gecko as he makes his return to modern gaming platforms and I’m looking forward to introducing the kids to what used to be a gaming staple for me back in the day.
