There are plenty of happy people on the planet with the return of some of the English Premier League this past weekend. If nothing else it’s probably the best reminder in fact that we are edging closer to the next release in the FIFA Football video game franchise, which this year will be FIFA 20.
Each year the groundbreaking technology that is showcased in this sports title continues to impress, from player movement to crowd and weather effects to updates in the graphics or commentary, there is always something new and this year will be no different, actually this year is almost a merger of two great games.
FIFA 20 will add VOLTA Football which is Street Football. You can build your player, pick your gear, and express your style in football playgrounds all over the world.
Sound familiar? A few years back there was a series of Fifa Street titles that were fun to play in a kind of “NBA JAM” way. Strangely the titles disappeared from the shelves after the reboot Fifa Street 4.
It makes perfect sense to include it as a game mode in the new Fifa 20 that releases on September 27, 2019. VOLTA Football will only be available on the PS4, Xbox and PC versions of the game.
So no Nintendo Switch support this year. The Switch version of Fifa 20 will be a rebadged version of Fifa 19 with updated teams and broadcast overlays. Very disappointing for fans of the franchise who own the Nintendo version.
