Netmarble has unveiled an impressive new trailer for “Game of Thrones: Kingsroad,” an action-adventure RPG set in the world of HBO’s iconic series based on the works of George R. R. Martin. This immersive experience invites players to step into the shoes of a rising hero, embarking on a journey to restore their house’s lost glory.
“Kingsroad” expands upon the beloved TV series, offering a unique storyline where players forge their own destiny amidst the political intrigue, treacherous alliances, and constant threat of danger that define Westeros.
The trailer showcases a glimpse into the dynamic gameplay, highlighting three distinct character classes:
- Knight: A well-rounded class with a refined and sophisticated fighting style, offering a balanced approach to combat.
- Sellsword: A brutal force wielding a massive two-handed axe, these warriors specialize in devastating close-quarters combat.
- Assassin: Masters of stealth and agility, Assassins excel in swift, deadly strikes and close-quarters combat.
The trailer also shows off the breathtaking landscapes and perilous environments that players will traverse throughout their journey across Westeros.
A closed beta test for “Game of Thrones: Kingsroad” is scheduled to commence next week, offering a select group of players the opportunity to experience the game firsthand. The official launch of the game is anticipated sometime in this year (2025).
Not all games based on popular IP like this end up being any good, but I really like the look of this so far so I have high expectations for what is to come.
