I’ve made it no secret that Alan Wake is one of my favourite games that I’ve ever played. It’s probably a tie for equal first between that and Wonder Boy in Monster Land. So the news that Alan Wake 2 is coming from Remedy Entertainment in 2023 is like Christmas, which is good, cause it’s nearly Christmas.

Games like Control in 2019 introduced a connected universe for Remedy games and that paired with industry rumours gave us hope that the team would one day return to bring us a new instalment of Alan Wake.

Sam Lake the Creative Director at Remedy Entertainment said in his blog “Whereas the first Alan Wake had horror elements in it, it was an action game. It does make sense for the title to evolve into survival horror from its more narrative roots and I’m sure the team will do everything they can to stay true to the themes and general feel of the title. You can tell from all the communication and the work that was done on the Alan Wake Remastered that this is more than a game to them. It’s a passion project, even a Magnum Opus of sorts.
